Monday April 27th was a massive leap forward in the planning for the visit of the giant to Bute in September.

Cal Mac are now involved, Big Man Walking is a big guy, some 8 metres high and he needs a big boat.

We were also planning the events for the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th of September so watch the events pages for details.

The Storytellers were here alll week again weaving their magic in the schools and with the different community groups that are involved. I went up to North Bute Primary to see them in action and had a super time. The children are working on stories about ghosts and Rothesay Castle, and there was dressing up. I always l;ike a bit of dressing up!

We were also out at Ettrick Bay planning for the 'XL In the Landscape' event scheduled for May 20th. 14/15 year olds from Rothesay Academy and the secondary schools of Helensburgh, Dunoon and Lochgilphead will be coming to Bute to experience beachcleaning, wildlife crime scenarios, willow weaving, heritage woodwork and photography. They will also get a burger and pizza lunch.
